Rodney H. Reilly II, 75, passed away Monday, November 22, 2021. Devoted partner and husband of 53 years of Jane O. Reilly (O’Brien). Loving and hard-working father of Bob (Naomi), Jane Reilly Perry (Andrew), Bryan (Lisa), and Dan Hout-Reilly (Matthew). Supportive and encouraging grandfather of Tyler, Bobby, John Perry, Michael Perry, Keegan, Danny, and Keira. Cherished brother of Terry (Mimi), Debbie Morris (Dan), and Shari Suggs (John), and cousin of Nancy Bruchert (Bill). Endearing and amusing brother-in-law, uncle, and friend to many. Rod is preceded in eternal life by his parents Rodney and Gertrude (Kelly) and his cousins Jane and Tom Kelly. Rod and Jane began their married life in the beautiful mountains of Germany, where Rod was stationed while proudly serving in the U.S. Army. Rod retired from a 37-year career at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland where he cultivated many meaningful and lasting friendships. After raising their family in Lakewood for 34 years, Rod and Jane retired to their “Reilly Ranch” in Fairview Park, Ohio. During his retirement, Rod enjoyed his volunteer work, hiking with Jane, birding, and being a superfan of his grandchildren’s sports, music, and theatrical endeavors. A celebration of Rod’s life will be held on December 1, 2021, at Dover Congregational United Church of Christ in Westlake, Ohio. Rod’s family will be receiving family and friends at the church beginning at 10:30 AM before the service at 11:30 AM. The inurnment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted, Ohio. Rod requested business casual attire, so please dress as you feel comfortable.
