Lillian Kastelic

(nee Robinson), age 91, Lakewood, Ohio, passed peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, October 12th. A Cleveland native, she was a progressive, giving, and talented woman who lived a very full life. A loving wife, mother, educator, and volunteer, she taught English literature, French, and American history at Lourdes Academy (now Erieview Catholic High School) and English as a second language at Cuyahoga Community College for many years. She was a strong advocate for many social justice causes and very involved in her parish as a lector and on multiple committees. She also volunteered as a lector for the televised Mass for shut-ins for more than 20 years. She had a special passion for children with developmental disabilities and was instrumental in organizing the Catholic Charities Walk of Hope" now celebrating its 40th anniversary. She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Frank Kastelic; her loving children, daughter, Kathleen Kastelic, and son Joseph Kastelic; her brother Tom Robinson; and her loving nieces and nephews: Maureen, Jeanne, Bridget, Jim, Tom, and Mark. She delighted in spending time with her extended family, including Liam and Heidi St.John, Chris St. John, Ian St.John, Jennifer Buckle, Matthew and Jean St.John, and had a great fondness for her four great grandchildren: Brian, Matthew, Michaela, and Colin.
